Chilean cadavers Pulverized awoke in the city of Santiago in 2006. 

They perform death metal with a strong American influence from the early '90s, without leaving aside the essences of the glorious South American extreme metal scene. Their lyrical themes touch the thoughts about life, death, Christianity and its moral decadence in Western Society. Having two demo releases in their discography, they have already illustrated the sign of miasmic assault, that is uncontrollably fierce and absolutely petrifying.

From Seattle, Washington, Drawn and Quartered initially began in 1993 as a project of guitarist Kelley Kuciemba under the name Plague Bearer and during the same year vocalist Herb Burke joined along with other members. The band released their debut demo entitled ‘Bubonic Death’ in the same year, featuring music that was entirely written by Kelley prior to the band’s formation.

There are very few labels that come close to Iron Bonehead Productions when it comes to sniffing out new and obscure bands from across the globe. Since the release of their debut album, ‘Devoid of Light,’ in April 2016 UADA has battled and overcame a number of issues, from a cancelled festival appearance to changes in membership to having to record their latest album, ‘Cult of a Dying Sun,’ a number of times before reaching satisfaction with it. Yet, nothing seems capable of slowing this band’s justified rise to prominence and with ‘Cult of a Dying Sun’ just released their meteoric rise is set to continue.

Whilst Denmark may not be the first country that comes to mind when considering Death Metal the Danes have certainly given us some exceptional bands with Undergang and Phrenelith being two that have brought us fantastic albums in the past year. From Copenhagen, Taphos is another Danish band that's caused a bit of a stir within the underground in recent times. Blood Harvest Records in conjunction with Helter Skelter Productions recently revealed details of Taphos’ highly anticipated debut album, ‘Come Ethereal Somberness’ which will be released on CD, cassette, LP and digital formats in June this year.

On the fateful day of June 6th, Larval Productions will release Jyotiṣavedāṅga's highly anticipated debut album, 'Thermogravimetry Warp Continuum.'

Jyotiṣavedāṅga are a pan-international entity featuring guitarist Sadist from Indian black/grind/noise iconoclasts Tetragrammacide; H. from Russia's esteemed Sickrites on synths, noise, and effects; AR, from emerging Kolkata cult Banish, on vocals; and prolific Ukrainian drummer Dimitry Kim (Sickrites, Goatpsalm, Balance Interruption et. al.). 

While war metal undoubtedly forms the foundation of Jyotiṣavedāṅga's multi-dimensional attack, it is but a mere tool to be wielded - and, more suitably, malformed. For 'Thermogravimetry Warp Continuum' is indeed a warp continuum sucking vortex-ward the most diseased and depraved decibels lurking within the all-too-often mutually exclusive scenes of black metal and power electronics, splicing various DNA and mincing its residual strains. 

Exclusive Track Premiere - In Obscurity Revealed - Alliance with the Ancient.

Cyclopean Eye Productions is an independent label that regularly brings us some true underground genius. Last year the label released the fantastic debut album from the mysterious and secretive project Bell . In 2017 the label also released a CD edition of the fantastic demo, 'Cannibal Coronal Mass Ejections, by Jyotiṣavedāṅga along with a CD edition of  Beelzebud's self-titled debut album.

2018 has just started in a very strong manner for the label as Cyclopean Eye Productions  has just reissued In Obscurity Revealed's debut demo, 'Spell of the Seeker,'  on CD. This new issue from Cyclopean Eye Productions features a bonus track, 'Alliance with the Ancient,' which didn't appear on the original release.

Read on for further information on this release along with an exclusive stream of the bonus track. Also included is a second track, 'The Path of the Shadow' which is also available to stream from the Cyclopean Eye Productions Bandcamp page.

Exclusive Full LP Stream + Interview - Veiled - Black Celestial Orbs.

Veiled was formed after the cessation of Gnosis of the Witch in 2015 and released their critically acclaimed demo, 'Omniscient Veil,' via Iron Bonehead Productions during the same year. Their debut album, 'Black Celestial Orbs,' is set to be released by Iron Bonehead Productions on the 16th of March and is available to stream in it's entirety below. 

With the debut album due, along with several scheduled live dates we had plenty to talk about when I caught up with founding member Niðafjöll for a second interview. 

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Niðafjöll for the time taken to answer these questions and for his support for The Lair of Filth.

The UK’s presence within underground extreme music is continuing to grow at a very satisfying rate, one label that regularly contributes to this growth is Goatprayer Records. Goatprayer was the first label to physically release music from Vacivus, Bone Tomb, Hegemony and Cryptworm so it’s fair to say the label has played, and will continue to play, a pivotal role in the shaping of extreme music, both nationally and internationally. 

Exclusive Full LP Stream + Interview - Disembowel - Plagues and Ancient Rites.

Regularly featured here at The Lair of Filth, Chile is a country whose contribution to, and significance within; our underground should never be understated. Whether it’s stalwart Chilean bands like Ammit, Slaughtbbath and Unaussprechlichen Kulten or more recent additions to the Chilean horde such as Oraculum, Athanatos and Praecognitvm there’s no doubting this is a country that regularly punches above its weight.
One recent addition to this Chilean horde is Disembowel from Melipilla in Southern Chile. Disembowel first came to a higher degree of prominence when Iron Bonehead Productions released a CD version of their debut EP, ‘Act of Invocation’ in July 2017. Now Iron Bonehead Productions is set to bring us a vinyl LP edition of Disembowel’s debut album, ‘Plagues and Ancient Rites’ which will cement the band’s place in Chilean underground history.
I was given the opportunity to interview the band, along with the chance of exclusively streaming the album ahead of its release on Friday 2nd March. I’d like to express my immense appreciation to PK from Iron Bonehead Productions and N T Birk who looks after their PR for their help and permission in doing so. French label Krucyator Productions brought us some superb releases and re-releases last year with music from Miserist, Auroch, Paroxsihzem and Drawn and Quartered featuring on the label's roster. Thankfully this trend is set to continue in 2018 with a new album from Autokrator along with this exceptional release from Profane Order. Artist Profile with Mark Riddick - Riddickart.

Last year I had the honour and pleasure of creating artist profiles with two of the underground's most talented, prolific and respected artists.
In May the first was created in conjunction with Alex MORKH Shadrin from Nether Temple Design who is also an active member of Vhorthax, Serpentrance and Sickrites. The second artist profile was published in July and featured Daniel Corcuera (Nekronikon) who, in addition to being an extremely talented artist and tattooist is also a member of Chilean band, Slaughtbbath.
Due to the popularity of these features I approached another exceptionally talented artist, Mark Riddick, who is one of the busiest and most respected artists around. In addition to his work as an artist Mark is also a past/present member of several bands, including Fetid Zombie, Macabra and Grave Wax. Mark's output as a musician is almost as prolific as his artwork so, to this end, this profile is also interspersed with active streams of his music.
It is with huge honour along and eternal thanks to Mark that I can now reveal our latest artist profile.

Grandiose Malice's 'The Eternal Infernal' is the final will and testament of Steve Childers, otherwise widely known in the metal underground as Tregenda, founding guitarist of the legendary Black Witchery. Worldwide, Childers was revered as a master of stark simplicity, his riffs burrowing immediately into the brain with total violence and force, but underneath all that sturm und drang lay a master songwriter. Sadly, Childers departed this mortal coil on February 2nd, 2016.
