Filthy Review - 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure'
Bill &
Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989)
Review by Jude
Felton
Has is really
been over 20 years since Bill S. Preston Esq and Ted “Theodore” Logan first
graced our screens? It has indeed, and when Fox announced, out of the blue,
that they were to release this gem of a movie on to Blu-ray, I was surprised,
albeit happily surprised. Saying that though they do have a habit of releasing
some cool movies through their MGM label, with Killer Klowns from Outer Space
and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 being two recent beauties to hit Blu.
Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast, it's 'Hudson Horror Show 666'!
Get your sexy pants on, especially if you are in New York state on December 1st, as the Hudson Horror Show 666 will be taking place at Silver Cinemas in Poughkeepsie. There'll be no tapes here though, just 35mm goodness as Re-Animator, Conan the Barbarian, Phantasm 2, The Devil's Rain, Switchblade Sisters and the original Black Christmas splatter across the big screen! I plan on being there, and so should you. Read on for more details, including ticket info.

CBS Films pick up 'The Last Exorcism Part II'
2010's The Last Exorcism seemed to get a mixed response from fans. Personally, I really enjoyed it...even the ending. Well, it seems that it wasn't the last exorcism at all, as CBS Films have just announced that they have picked up all US distribution rights from StudioCanal. The film will be released nationwide on March 1st.

A name all genre fans should be familiar with, Rick Baker, is set to be honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 30th. All I can say to this is that is it well deserved, and probably long overdue for the 7 time Oscar winner. Congrats to Rick!!

Filthy Music Review - 'Plan B: iLL Manors'
Plan B – Ill Manors:
Music from and inspired by the Original Motion Picture
Review by
Jude Felton
Ben Drew, aka
Plan B, has appeared in a few movies in recent years, such as Adulthood, Harry
Brown and the upcoming The Sweeney, but with Ill Manors he has turned his
talents to directing. Unfortunately the film does not at present have a US
release, although I will be picking up an import copy in the near future, of
which I will then review. Having listened to this soundtrack though you will
get a very good idea of how the film plays out, and it is brutal stuff.

Filthy Review - 'Savages'
Savages (2012)
Review by
Jude Felton
Director
Oliver Stone has without doubt been a favorite director of mine for years, and between
the mid-80s’ and mid-90s’ I pretty much enjoyed the hell out of every movie he
made, aside from Nixon, which I have still yet to see. Stone definitely puts
his own stamp on each film, and is never shy of letting you know what his
stance is on any given subject. Whether you agree or not is down to you, but
damn he has made some good movies, even if he has gone off the boil of late.
Filthy Review - 'Gangsters, Guns and Zombies'
Gangsters,
Guns and Zombies (2012)
Review by Jude
Felton
The first I
heard of this little gem, from back across the pond, was several months ago
when I caught the first trailer. I will admit, as if often the case these days,
that when I saw there was another zombie film on its way I wasn’t exactly
filled with manic excitement. However, there was something about the trailer
that just seemed to gel, and fortunately that is amplified in the film itself.
Zombies won’t die, not in film anyway, as long as there is passion behind the
making of the film. Gangsters, Guns and Zombies has this passion by the
shitload.
