Well, I say a vampire flick with balls if the teaser, attached below, is anything to go by as The Eternal is still in development at the time of writing this. I first saw the teaser trailer a couple of years ago, give or take, and it stuck in my mind. Unfortunately I forgot the movie's name, but I did not forget the trailer; it's crisp, visceral and great to look at.
The director and company behind The Eternal is Justin McConnell and Unstable Ground, which is the same team that brought us one of my favorite flicks of 2011, The Collapsed (which will see its Blu-ray and DVD debut later this year) and the upcoming Skull World documentary. Speaking to Justin he tells me that he hopes to have The Eternal rolling later this year, and when you see the trailer I am sure you'll agree that it looks like something good.
The Eternal is preceeded by a short movie, Ending the Eternal which you can check watch below, and continues events told in the graphic novel The Eternal: Final Dawn.
Samuel Gradius has lived too long. In his 500 years on earth he has seen empires rise and fall, changed the course of history with his bare hands and witnessed countless revolutions with his own eyes. Samuel Gradius is a vampire, perhaps the only vampire, and he's had enough. He wants to die.
No longer content with the idea of simple suicide, he makes the decision to go out in the ways of old. He wants a warrior's death. THE ETERNAL follows Samuel on the pursuit of his own personal oblivion, he hopes, at the hands of someone worthy.
