Thanks to The Conduit for bringing this sick looking puppy to my attention. Extreme violence and mayhem seem to be the order of the day here. This has to be one of the craziest trailers I have seen in quite some time, it looks bloody marvelous, just be careful who you watch it in front of!
More information about the movie and its DVD release can be found hereat Necrostorm's site.

The demon will follow him during his trip, promising to lead Adam to the murderer if he does everything he asks. This unleash a bloody war that will bring Adam, deployed with the demon on his side; and the police corp with all its dark allies, on the other. Denny infact, supported by his two sadistic sons Ben and Derek, will also enrol an hired killer. The fight can start... and it will be extreme!
It’s always nice to get the opportunity to review a movie that, chances are, won’t be found in video stores or for sale online or wherever and try to get the word out. This is almost definitely the case when it is a short movie that may well fly under most peoples radars. Of course this is only the case if the movie in question is good.
Sons of Chaos, the movie in question here, is one such film. At the time of writing this it is currently doing the festival circuit in Europe, with its US premiere due, I believe, in August.
Set in the year 2154 Sons of Chaos follows a young warrior named Oca who is training to become a Son of Chaos. His trial involves three tasks which culminate in him having to kill a creature known as a Howler. With a running time of 15 minutes this is a short and to the point movie which felt as though it is intended to be a precursor to a feature length film, which I believe is the case. Don’t quote me on that though.
Being as that it is only 15 minutes long there are plenty of questions that are left unanswered which is slightly frustrating. That being said Sons of Chaos is a technically and visually impressive piece of work. The action is kept taut and to the point without any wasted screen time, and it did leave me wanting more. Shot in France by first time director Mathieu Turi, who also stars as Oca, I was surprised to find that the minimal dialogue was actually in English with French subtitles. This actually works well as when the characters do speak, which isn’t often, they use voice-box style equipment connected to gas masks as I guess there is something in the air that is deadly to both warriors and Howlers.
Overall Sons of Chaos works well as a teaser of what is potentially to come and showcases that Turi definitely has an eye for the cinematic. The fact that there are unanswered questions is a little frustrating, for example who are the Howlers and why do they need to be killed and so forth.
If you get the chance though I would say that this is well worth checking out and to keep an eye open for whatever Turi has planned for the future.
To mark the Fortieth Anniversary of its production, and twenty years after the film disappeared from the public eye, Shameless Screen Entertainment are aiming to release the first ever worldwide Blu-ray of Dario Argento’s Four Flies on Grey Velvet – remastered in HD from the original negative by the original lab.
It’s all a-buzz at Shameless! After two years of behind the scene negotiations via their “Italian connection”, Shameless Screen Entrainment is proud to announce that they will soon release the missing Argento opus: Four Flies on Grey Velvet – or, fact fans, what more accurately should be called Four Flies of Grey Velvet – as per the literal translation of Quattro Mosche Di Velluto Grigio.
It doesn’t stop there, Shameless have put their investigative caps on and - pending the availability of the original filmmaking team - they intend to discover for their fans what really happened to Dario Argento’s “lost” film...
Four Flies on Grey Velvet will be released on Blu-ray and DVD by Shameless Screen Entertainment on 5 December 2011.
One of my favorite movies is getting a shiny new release on September 27th from Blue Underground. They are putting out a new Special Edition DVD and Blu-Ray. Looks like this will be another edition to my collection.
For those of you that haven't seen it here's the synopsis from Blue Underground's site

Catriona MacColl (THE BEYOND), Paolo Malco (THE NEW YORK RIPPER), Ania Pieroni (TENEBRE), Carlo De Mejo (CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD), and Dagmar Lassander (HATCHET FOR THE HONEYMOON) star in this outrageous Italian shocker from 'The Godfather of Gore,' Lucio Fulci (ZOMBIE, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD). It doesn't seem like that long ago that the latest, and maybe slightly belated, in the Scream franchise was playing theaters. Well, the DVD and Blu-ray have been announced for an October 4th release, just in time for Halloween. I didn't get the chance to catch this on the big screen and despite some mixed opinions I still do want to see it.

A new poster (above) has just been released to coincide with its world premiere of Filip Tegstedt's Marianne at the Fantasia Festival. I've been following the progress of this Swedish movie for a while now and I must say it looks very promising
Marianne is a psychological horror film about a broken family in the small isolated town of Östersund, located up in the Swedish northlands. Among the pine woods, the lakes, the snowy mountains and the midnight summer sun, the story takes place on the fuzzy border where fantasy and reality meet.
45 year old Krister's wife Eva has just passed away in a car accident, and now he's alone with the 18 year old daughter Sandra who hates his guts, and a 6 months old daughter who he doesn't really know how to take care of .
At night he's haunted by bad nightmares about what happened the night Eva died, and guilt for the pain he's caused Sandra over the years as an absent father. He experiences visits in his sleep from a woman dressed in green, looking for revenge. Someone who comes to him via his dreams. Someone he knows already is dead.
Sandra's boyfriend, who's interested in old Swedish folklore, soon realizes Krister is haunted by a Mare – a female creature of the night or a woman possessed. He tries to guide Krister by helping him get rid of her, while Krister tries to regain his family and reestablish some sort of order in his life. But having a bad reputation in a small town makes it hard to regain the trust of someone you've let down so many times before.
Krister finds himself in a jungle of guilt and anxiety, superstition and nightmares, mental and physical illness, and has to find the best way out. Is the Mare real, or only in his mind?"
To celebrate 10 year anniversary of the release of the notorious August Underground Severed Sinema are presenting this trible-bill of all three AU films. Plus there is the added bonus of Necrophagia playing. Necro-fucking-phagia!!!! Also Fred Vogel and the rest of the Toetag crew will be there for a Q&A.
I plan on being there as it's just down the road from me. Should be a sick night indeed.
